In my journalism class we were asked to draw a political cartoon. My cartoon is pretty self explainatory. Like most presidents, George Bush enjoys golfing. He and his administration also seem to enjoy making horrible decisions that have to do with the environment. My cartoon brings those two favorites together.
I support my president simply because he is my president and it is his right to be respected and supported by his people, however, I don't think he is the best candidate for representing our country and I have a feeling his head isn't always in the game (unless he's golfing). I'm a firm believer in the fact that our political views seem to relflect those of our parents, however, I will be able to vote in two years and I'm starting to accept my parents opinions as my own because I don't understand the basis behind the republican party's thinking.
My cartoon simply shows that our president may think that the world is his to play with. Or it could remind us that golf balls are hit, battered, and not treated the most gently and George Bush isn't applying a gentle touch to our Earth.
